Reports provide status and summary information about enterprise resources and operations. You can configure reports to run on-demand or on a recurring schedule.
Types of Reports
You can create reports using a predefined template or in a form that meets your requirements. Reports are categorized as:
- Standard Reports: Use standard reports to create, view, and manage reports with a predefined template.
- Custom Reports: Use custom reports to create, view, and manage customized reports with multiple contents. Custom reports display data in charts or graphs that you can share with the other users in your organization.
Types of Standard Reports and Permissions
All standard reports have managed permissions. For some reports, more permissions are provided. For example, the Standard Inventory report includes the version and model of the gateway.
The following table lists names of all standard reports and includes a description, available permission options, and applicable packages:

Types of Custom Reports
The following custom reports can be created:
- Inventory Report
- Metrics Report
- Alerts Reports
- Cloud Cost
Considerations
- Custom reports are stored and organized in folders.
- Sections segregate the data for each type of report into sections in a single report.
- Report generation can fail when there are database issues, such as query timeouts, or technical errors.
- Reports are in the form of an XLS-formatted spreadsheet, which is configured when the report is created.
- You receive email notification only after a report is successfully generated. The Status column on the Custom Reports page displays Failure when report generation fails. Contact Support for additional information.
Constraints
- You can create up to 100 reports per folder.
- A report can have a maximum of five sections.
- Custom reports support less than or equal to 50,000 resources.
- You can add up to 30 devices in the Metrics report, a graphical report with metric values, and up to 100 devices in the Inventory report, a graphical report.
- Reports generated in XLS format have a maximum limit of 1,000,000 rows. Data exceeding the maximum number of rows is excluded from the report.
Report Suspension Criteria
The following table shows the criteria for suspending reports, depending on the time interval:
Interval | Suspension Criteria |
---|---|
Previous day | Suspend the report after seven report generation cycles without a download. |
Previous week | Suspend the report after four report generation cycles without a download. |
Previous month | Suspend the report after three report generation cycles without a download. |
Snapshot | Suspend the report after three report generation cycles without a download. |
A report with a Suspended status remains in the suspended state for 30 days. After 30 days, the report schedule is deleted. Within the 30-day interval before the suspension, you can choose to Resume the scheduled report.
