Log management is a configurable feature at the client-level. You can enable or disable log management from the OpsRamp portal. You can either enable log management while adding a new client or on an existing client.
To enable log management on a new client:
- Login to OpsRamp Portal.
- Go to Setup > Accounts > Clients.
- From the CLIENT page, click Add. See Create a Client for more information on how to add a new client.
- From the NEW CLIENT page, under the Log Management section, select Yes to enable log management.
- The administrators now also have an additional level of control Log Ingestion when enabling log management for the first time. During the initial setup, an administrator can either enable or disable all agents (the Disable all agents option is selected by default).
This feature allows administrators to effectively manage and regulate the potential influx of a significant volume of logs, ensuring smoother control over the log ingestion process.
You can also manage log ingestion for the specified agents by enabling or disabling it from the Settings page. See Enable/Disable Logs - Agent Level for more details.
Log management is now enabled for the client.
To enable log management on an existing client:
- Login to OpsRamp Portal.
- Go to Setup > Accounts > Clients.
- From the CLIENTS page, select an existing client for which you want to enable log management.
- From the CLIENT DETAILS page, click Edit to change the details of an existing client.
- In the EDIT CLIENT page, under the Log Management section, select Yes to enable log management.
- Click Finish.Log management is now enabled for the client.
Once log management is enabled for a client, you can check the status of the log flag under both VM and Kubernetes integration as mentioned below:

- Go to Downloads > Agent.
- From the Agent page, select an agent for which you want to view the status of the log’s flag.

Log Status - Kubernetes
To check the status of log flag for Kubernetes integration:
- Go to Setup > Integration and Apps.
- From the INSTALLED INTEGRATIONS page, select Kubernetes.
- Click installed Kubernetes integration and check for logs flag as shown below:
