Introduction

Through the latest OpenTelemetry integration, you can now seamlessly incorporate telemetry data types such as metrics, logs, and traces into OpsRamp. This integration facilitates the effortless ingestion of these data streams directly from the pre-configured OpenTelemetry collector into OpsRamp, enabling comprehensive monitoring and analysis within our operational environment.

Prerequisites

Customer applications equipped with a pre-configured OpenTelemetry (OTEL) collector to scrape logs, metrics, and traces telemetry data.

Add an OpenTelemetry integration

To install OpenTelemetry integration:

  1. Click All Clients and from the drop-down list, select a client.

  2. Navigate to Setup > Account.

  3. Click the Integrations and Apps tile.
    The Installed Integrations page, where all the installed applications are displayed.
    Note: If there are no installed applications, it will navigate to the Available Integrations and Apps page.

  4. Click + ADD on the Installed Integrations page.
    The Available Integrations and Apps page displays all the available applications along with the newly created application with the version.
    Note: You can even search for the application using the search option available. Also, you can use the All Categories option to search.

  5. Click +ADD on the OpenTelemetry Integration application.
    The ADD OPENTELEMETRY page is displayed. You can navigate through the METRICS, LOGS, or TRACES tabs to access and configure specific settings for each data type accordingly.
